Tucano's

Image
For all the May birthdays', Erik's graduation and Ethen's June birthday, we met at Tucano's in Orem for dinner. The food was fantastic. The kids all played at the fountain outside for a while before we went to the Legacy Center to swim. Of course we all got barely wet before it closed for POOP!! Man, parents that don't obey the two diaper law make me mad. Koy, Rebekah and Ethen All the fam Rebekah helping Ches feel the water Sam didn't want to pose with the fountain

The Wedge

Image
For Memorial Day we took off for Price. Our intention was to go camping up Huntington Canyon, but there was snow. It rained most of the weekend, so we pretty much bagged camping. We did take a day trip out to the top of the Swell. We met Scott and Marissa for some shooting and four wheeler riding. The kids were really impressed with The Wedge. It is like a mini grand canyon. The drop off is huge so Ethen didn't like the fact that he had to stand rather close to mom as we walked out to the overlook. When we got back to the house, we set up our HUGE new tent and slept in the backyard. That was pretty cool in itself

Rebekah's Last Day of School

Image
Rebekah wanted to look nice for her last day of school because she was receiving an award. BIG surprise. She got student of the year last year, so I knew it was going to happen again. She received two this time. Her teacher gave her the kindest award and then she got an award for an accelerated learning class she attended most of the year. Miss Marchant was the best teacher for her. She made sure that Rebekah always had something to challenge her. She assigned her extra work and had a small group of the advanced kids to research projects in the library to continue their learning. She was Awesome. After school was over Miss Marchant told Rebekah that she wanted her to be on the Knowledge Bowl team next year. Miss Marchant is the captain and said that Rebekah would be great at it. I had already thought about having her participate so it was nice to get an official invite. It is like a spelling bee, they compete with other schools.

Ethen's Last Day of School

Image
Kindergarten isn't allowed to have a graduation in Alpine School District, so they do a carnival for the last day of school. Ethen had a blast playing all of the little games. I stayed to help, which was awesome because Sam decided that he needed to eat all of the suckers we were giving out for prizes. He had about 10. SUGAR RUSH. Mrs. Davis was awesome as Ethen's first teacher. She was so patient with him when he didn't want to go outside for recess because of the wind and really helped him to learn a ton fast. She was Wonderful. Ethen cried when we got home and he realized he would "NEVER see her again". I told him he could visit her and that seemed to be alright.

Ethen School Program

Image
Ethen's class did the bug program this year. Of course each class had to pick a different song to sing and then they all had to dress up like bugs. Ethen was ecstatic when I told him I could make him a spider without much difficulty. They sung Itsy Bitsy Spider and the Ugly Bug Ball. I tired to upload the video but it took to much space. Ethen kept smacking the person in front of him with his extra arms. It was hilarious. He was so proud of himself. He kept asking me what I could give him for doing so well. He didn't want the ice cream we got afterwards. He wanted something that was really special to me.

Rebekah's Program

For the end of the year program, Rebekah's class did the Second Annual Second Grade Dance Festival. Each Class was given a different country to spotlight and choose a folk dance from there. There were some great ones. Rebekah's class got Sweden.

Fabulous Read

This weekend was a sad one for me. Despite my Stephenie Meyer obsession and my connection with Twilight Moms, I was unable to attend the signing at Thanksgiving Point. To make it even worse, TM's kept emailing me and asking me to help out with stuff. Rub it in why don't you!!! We did go and see Prince Caspian with the kids. That was a great show, even with the deviations from the book. Even the kids noticed. The bonus, other than seeing a great movie with my family was that I got to see the Twilight Trailer on the big screen. I have seen it about a hundred times on the computer, but there is nothing like sitting it the theater with a ton of people and being the only one cheering when the trailer comes on. Bryon was probably glad that he wasn't sitting near me at that moment. Anyway, because of my disappointment at not being able to hang with a ton of Twilight wierdo's I threw myself into The Host and finally finished at 2am last night. On Good Things Utah ...

Happy Mom's Day

Image
My parents came over for dinner (thanks to everyone else who bummed out on us). Grandma gave Sam a knife and he spent the entire meal "cutting!!!" his food. It was a pretty piece of artwork when he was done. I don't think he ate any of it. Ethen's Presents- Picture frame made of sticks and a book about mom. Rebekah's Presents-origami rose and note Bryon and Sam gave me two gardenia plants for the front yard. And once again the most awesome ward we lived in gave every mom a huge chocolate bar.

Anyone Else Concered????

The Kids went to my parents house over the weekend. When they came home, we told them we had a surprise but they had to find it. It took them about 10 minutes to finally look in the back yard. We used some of our rebate check to get a tramp. Both Rebekah and Ethen said it was "the best day of their lives!". Man do they need to get out more. The jumped all day and didn't have a single fight. YEAH FOR MOM!!!! Bryon told them that they could sleep out there with him. It took a really long time to get things set up because they kept playing. They ended up settling down though. I went out to check on them when it got dark and saw a square shaped glow from Sam's window. Bryon had hooked up the laptop with an extension cord and they were watching a movie!! Now that's roughing it. I was surprised that they stayed out there all night. And YES! I jumped too, but was quickly reminded that I have given birth to three children. I did managed to show Ethen how to do a k...
