Our Homemade Thanksgiving

Because of me being sick, Bryon had to run to the store and get all the fixin's for a small dinner. He cooked the Turkey Breast all by himself along with almost everything else. I was able to get out of bed to help with the real mashed potatoes.

The kids were a great help with setting the table and were excited to show me what a good job they did.

It was pretty sad to have us all by ourselves eating alone, but Bryon reminded us that at least we were able to buy the stuff to make the food and have a great dinner. Thanks for keeping us all humble.

Injuries

Sam was attacked in the Daycare by a 4 year old with claws. Apparently it was the worst scratch they have ever had.

The day before that, Ethen was jumping around on the couch downstairs. Bryon called me from bed and told me that I should come and make sure he didn't need stitches. When he jumped off the couch he landed on my bag of crochet stuff and cut himself on the scissors. It bled really well, but not deep enough for a doctor's visit. I was doing enough of that on my own.

Sneak Peek

I wanted to get these out quick so that if I need to make changes I can.

Here are some of the trees that I have already decorated.

And the finale....
These are the pictures that will be framed and on the piano. They are 11x14 and sooo amazing in person. Edward is well fed, so no need to worry.

Tribute Tuesday

After yesterday's fiasco, I decided that today would be better. So far so good.
I was changing laundry and knocked down a pile of pictures that I had kiffed from my parents house and meant to scrapbook who knows how long ago.

I decided to kiff something esle. The Fabulous Macula does a Flashback Friday on her blog. I was going to wait until Friday but I decided I couldn't. I needed the little extra boost today.

So here is the first official Tribute Tuesday (not be confused with Twilight Tuesday).
I am going to pick a different person in my life each week to spotlight and thoroughly embarrass the crap out of them by posting great things.

Most of the pics that spilled on the floor were of my older brother Jeremiah. We are only 18 months apart so you can imagine that we were close growing up. Now it is sad to say that I don't have his phone number, nor even remember where is house is. Life gets in the way sometimes, but that is a bit ridiculous. (Alicia should be sending this info soon I bet).

So he is the lucky winner of this weeks contest. His totally cool wife watches the blog so I know this will not take long to get to him. Sorry, Miah. These were too funny to keep to myself.

The many faces of Jeremiah

Take care to notice the can of flour or whatever under the tree. My food storage parents at work.

With baby me (and Auntie Tammy and Lois too who are going to send threatening emails I am sure).
Ethen thinks this it the coolest cake ever. He might just get it for his 7th birthday. We have been Star Wars freaks from the beginning. The first one came out the year I was born. Too bad we didn't save all the toys we had. Ebay would have been a gold mine.
About 1986. The first day of school with our new van and our new house (only 1 year old at this point).

I don't think he built this quarter pipe. However, the giant one in our backyard was definitely his idea.

Yellowstone National Park. I was about 12 so 1990?

This was when I was away at college. He had moved back in with my parents and his band was well underway.
I stole this one off the Redemption My Space (a site no doubt monitored by his Internet extraordinaire wife) to give credit where it is due. The last I heard he had 10 guitars and never had to take a lesson. I hate that everything was always so easy for him.
My friend Laurie says that I am one of the smartest people she knows (I know she needs to meet more people), but Jeremiah was always smarter than I was.
I know Marianne will get a kick out of these, knowing him from Jr. High.

Love you Miah.

Wake me up tomorrow. I QUIT!!!

It took me two hours to get Sam to finally take a nap. Of course I was exhausted too, so I laid down and fell asleep.
DARN EARLY OUT DAY! The kids came home and I was expecting them because I heard them coming from the open window. I was hot, so I opened it.
Ethen decided that he should knock on the door and do the continuous ring thing of the door bell because I forgot to unlock it the front door.
Rebekah being far more analytical came in through the garage.
Ethen knows he is not supposed to do this because Sam might be taking a nap, which was the case today. So to stop him from waking the kid up, I jumped out of bed and stormed into the living room. I flung open the door and told Ethen that he had just earned himself a nice trip to his room. He started crying as he pounded away.
Then Rebekah comes in through the garage door. As Ethen fades into the hallways she greets me with an stuttered hello. She has brought a friend home with her and I forgot to pull back on my pajama pants in my fury.

WELCOME HOME KIDS. Your mother is going to commit herself now.

Janet's secret

I am only sharing this because I know I am going to start getting a lot of questions since the big day (non-twilight related anyway) is next week.

Here is the magic link.

Sing Along

Oh what do you do at 2 am
when your toddler will not sleep?
Do you tickle his back, then tickle his feet?
Try something cold, then heat?
Is that what you do?
So do I.

Oh what do you do at 3 am
when your toddler will not sleep?
Do you yell do you scream?
Then finally try Lightning McQueen?
Is that what you do?
So do I.

Man I am tired!!!

Sensitivity

Rebekah has begged for more than a year for Bryon and I to reveal what happens at the end of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Being the literary consumers that we are, we have refused.
Tonight she finally reached "that" part. She has been listening to it on Bryon's Ipod and had passed it several times after she had fallen asleep. I helped her find it and then she begged me to sit and listen to it with her. I was in her room for about an hour, listening to 3 or four chapters. When the fated moment arrived I watched her very closely. She displayed shock and a lot of "I knew it!"'s. Then after the action was over, she settled into the quiet place of mourning and listen on with a few tears peeking out from the edges of her eyes.
I love you baby! Thanks for spending the night with your wierdo mom.

Captain Underpants and his sidekick Big Boot Boy

Sunday is the lazy family day at our house. With church not starting until 3 and neither Bryon or I having to work, we just hang out together. Bryon likes to throw the kids around a lot. They seem to enjoy it as well.

Ethen and Sam got out of the shower and Ethen wanted to get Sam dressed. The both ended up in their underwear (luckily Ethen did put a diaper on Sam)

So here is my boys. Looking fabulous in their fruit of the looms.

Don't you just love when you are trying to take a nice picture and....

TEAM ALICE

Our last official Twilight Moms Team Alice meeting was Saturday night. We needed to get together to finalize all the stuff for the party and to stuff the 1000 goody bags for that night.

It was a total blast-ola.
The meeting was late getting started because we all wanted to chat.

Kelly the super-talented photographer and decorations committee buddy (and Shelby her friend).

We got to goody bag stuff while we listened to the Twilight Soundtrack for three hours. There were a lot of bags.

Talented Jewelry Extraordinaire (Thirst Earrings) and decorations committee buddy Kriselle, surrounding by empty bags.

Stepheine Urry (Neighbor to Alison's sister Leanne), Amy O, Kriselle and the Fabulous Lisa Hansen (Coven Mother and Twilight Moms creator looking at the Movie Guide).

Contents of the goody bags

My favorite one.

The never ending line of stuffing.
Heidi Files at the table. There are only 16-20 bags in each box so this is about 1 hour into the process.
The fabulous Team Alice all adorned in the pepto shirts and hoodies. Now I haven't owned anything pink since about 1985 so actually getting me into this thing was a process all on its own. I joked that I was going to have to double dose on Valium before the meeting, but I managed to get it on without pharmaceutical help. I was however the laughing stock of the entire meeting and everyone kept making jabs at me.
Thanks to Mandy to helped me get through the trying time. Only for Twilight would I stoop this low.
