My Killer Man

Image
In the tradition of the bow hunt, if the first weekend you don't succeed.. try to kill off your family by continuing to go up on the mountain every weekend until your kids say "Dad who?" Luckily for us, it only took one additional weekend for Bryon. We went back on the mountain with Dane. He was kind enough to let us stay in his trailer and as a trade off, we helped take care of Chesley. She brought up her Rhino which was the highlight of the trip this time. And the source of much contention. Saturday afternoon the boys surprised us with a video of Bryon taking a shot at only 25 yards. The video was so hilarious, but Bryon refuses to let me post it. After we all laughed at how funny both him and Dane were, they showed us the kill pictures. We were all excited, but the jubilation was subdued because of the size of the buck. Though bigger than his last one, it was still far from a trophy. We are so proud of our killer daddy. He graduated once more from simply a hun...

First Day of School

Image
We had to come home early from the Hunt this year because school started on MONDAY!!! DUMB. The kids had a hard time going to bed at a decent hour and waking up early was even worse. We spent a lot of time the day before getting ready so it wasn't too bad. We had some time before classes started so we spent some time on the playground.

The Hunt 2008

Image
We once again retreated up Skyline for the annual Bow Hunt. The group was significantly smaller this year with the absence of the Smiths, the Stewart and Cox's. I think we planned to cook for 15 people instead of almost 30 like normal. We also had new camping spot. Not my favorite because of all the people. I was a good think we had trailers, cuz there wasn't much outdoor privacy. Bryon brought his hammock from Equador this year. Why we haven't taken it before I don't know. It was a hit with everyone. We took the kids down to the ponds to fish. Ethen and Sam got poles for their birthday and needed to try them out. Sam Just wanted to throw a bubble in the water, so Bryon tied it to his shoe. He kept pulling it in and casting over and over. Then he finally got the hang of his pole. He loved to reel the bubble in and then drop it back in the water. Rebekah ended up catching a Golden Trout buy the eye and then she was given two more by someone else that was fishin...

Thomas' Late Over

Image
We finally got our brains together and realized how bad we missed hanging out with the Thomas'. After knowing each other for seven years you would think that it wouldn't be a question, but for some reason we are just dumb that way. After Jonah's baptism we decided to get together for dinner and then after the dinner date we made plans to have them come out and go to Thanksgiving Point and then come over for a late over. Our kids LOVE each other and it would give us a chance to hang out as adults. We met at the dinosaur museum and only had a little over an hour to look everything. It was perfect. I didn't get out the camera until they started playing with the sand and water exhibit. Gentry Ethen and Sam Rebekah Sam and Gentry Jonah and Cooper were more interested in the computer games. Nanu! Nanu! Just in case you didn't know what a struggle it is to get 6 kids to pose for a picture, let me break it down for you. Take 1 Take 2 This is the one that we ended it with. T...

Sam's Big Bed

He won't sleep in the crib anymore, so what do you do?

BDAY Part Three

We had the great pleasure of going to Jonah Thomas' Baptism Saturday morning. He is my birthday buddy and my best friend's son. It was a fabulous party and we stayed so long that even the grandparents had left. Rebekah and Jonah (who have been betrothed since age 2) kept trying to come up with plans on how we could stay longer. It was a bit annoying, but so cute that they wanted to spend more time together. We left really late. Bryon and the kids did a BANG up job on my day. Of course they allowed me the time to hang out with my friends and be a complete idiot the night before. They got me a SugarLand cd that I have wanted for a while along with a new headlamp. I am strongly suspicious that Bryon picked this particular gift so that he didn't have to try and sleep with the light on while I read my new book. He is sooooo sly. We got home so late and we were all so tired that we had pizza for dinner (less clean up baby) and then Bryon made Brownies and Ice Cream. Th...

BDAY PART TWO

Image
After we went to Brick Oven we ran Marianne home and went to Walmart for some groceries. It was 9pm and there was no one waiting for the party that was supposed to start there at 9. SO SAD!! Then we hit Borders. There isn't a lot of pics from there because we were all too astonished at the amount of weirdo's. There was a ton of people that dressed up in all black with painted faces and FANGS. I wanted to shake all of them and yell "HAVE YOU EVEN READ THE BOOK?!?!?! Go home. Stephenie's vamps don't have fangs you gothic wannabe's" Breathing deeply to calm down Then we finally found Laura, the best TM EVER!! She grabbed me a wristband the night before so I didn't have to camp out and stand in line for one. Through her miraculous efforts we were number 43 out of about 1000 or so. We played cards for a while because I was going to fall asleep. By the way, what happened to those cards? I was supposed to buy them since we opened them and shuffled them for s...
