Arghhhhhhh (not the pirate type)

I have contracted Rebekah's cold. Boo Hoo you say and rightly you should.

However, even though I don't have asthma, I have had colds turn into pneumonia three times in 2 calendar years. The worst lasted for 6 WEEKS!

Needless to say I am being a bit cautious because I have WAY to many things going on right now that would suffer from my illness.
So if you notice me being a wimp and spending a great deal of time in bed, it is only partly lazniness. The other part in premptive.
At least Bryon can't say Team Alice caused this bout.

Melt my heart

I was telling my friend Laurie an update about one of the other night managers at the LC. Her husband is in ICU with pneumonia and Swine flu and in a coma. We have put together a fund to get her a Wal-mart gift card for groceries because neither one of them are working obviously. I told Laurie how it didn't look to good for him and how worried I was.
I didn't know Rebekah was listening.
After I was off the phone, she came and gave me a handful of change.
"Will you put this in the envelope for Leslee? This is all I have."
It was 20 cents.
It was hard to look at her with the tears in my eyes and tell her I would.
What a kind heart.

One for the record books

Once upon a time there was a man who spent entirely too much time in the mountains west of Cedar Fort looking for Elk Antlers.
One day, after a particularly successful hike he realized that he had a hole in his pants pocket.
Of course he kept his cell phone in that pocket and noticed that is was missing. Where among the expanse of the 10 mile hike did he loose the device? After looking harder than he did for antlers, he gave up and went home. After acquiring a new phone, it seemed like the one was not only lost but forgotten.
Every time he went back on the mountain after that, the cell phone came to mind. Feelings of regret for the lost monetary value plagued his mind.
Fast Foward TWO YEARS LATER!!
Yep two whole years and what does he find?...
Unbelievable.
That is all I have to say.

My Love-Hate Relationship

I love that there is a Walmart so close to us now.
I hate that it only takes me one trip to BLOW my paycheck there.
Seriously, How much food does it take to feed a family of 5?.....

Conumdrum

Ethen fell off the tramp on Monday. I took him to the Urgent Care Tuesday, just to be safe. They told me that it wasn't broken, but here we are Thursday and he is still complaining.
They didn't even mention anything about it being sprained, she just put and ace bandage on it to appease him. So do I take him to the pediatrician who will send me all the way to Orem to get an x-ray or do I wait it out for the weekend. Perhaps he is just being a sissy. It has been known to happen.

My Girl

We got to practice a bit early on Tuesday so I went into the gym to warm up with Rebekah while she waited for her coach.
She needs to work on her serve, so I went to the other side of the net and told her if she hit it over I would bump it back to her. It took a few tries but when she did get it over we ended up in a volley for a few minutes. Just the tow of us on this big 'ol court. I was so proud!
I went to the other side to give her a high five. She hugged me and said "I love you, mom".
Proud moment. That's my girl.

Day of ROFL and LMBO

It must have been a full moon on Thursday. Or something.
Bryon sent me a really funny spoof on Twilight that I will not post because of gore and language. But it was really funny and talks about how We should kill vampires not date them.

That was just the beginning.
With Dane's hilarious Facebook video and Holly's comments about getting a OCD stickers (obsessive Cullen disorder) for the van, I seemed to be the target of many a laugh. Bryon even suggested that we should teach the killing concept in RS or YW. Don't think that will fly.

Much to my surprise when I came home from work, it continued into my new guilty pleasure, The Vampire Diaries. Loosely based on the books, it has good acting and drama. Last night's episode left me rolling when Damon (equal to James) is sitting on a bed with a very familiar black book and starts asking what is wrong with Bella. The next few minutes were spent as one fictional vampire bashes another fictional vampire. I had to pause the show until I could stop laughing.

Now that was some good writing.
