FOURTH OF JULY

Pasty wanted to go to the Provo Parade the morning of the 4th, so we packed up and headed down there. We parked at Bryon's grandma's house which is only a few blocks from Center Street.
We got a great spot and settled in for the wait until the parade started
Pasty was late leaving so we knew not to expect her, but then we got a call saying that Candice had been in an accident
I ran up to pick her up and then we got back and watched the final bits of the action.

Ethen called me while I was driving and told me that he saw a bunch of Star Wars guys in the parade. Bryon told me later that Sam was so excited to see them too that he went and gave Ethen a hug.
Rebekah's favorite was anything that had a horse attached to it.
They actually had the huge balloons that take 30 people to keep them on the ground. Sam loved those.

We went swimming at the Legacy Center until they closed at 3. I didn't get any pictures of that. I think Candice did though. Rebekah and Ethen were excited to show off all the their swim lesson skills and Ethen could finally touch the bottom which made it really nice. It took some time to get Sam to accept the fact that it was just like the shower, then he had fun.

We went to our house for a BBQ and then the fireworks started.

Bryon lit off a loud one first and that spoiled it for Sam. I spent most of the night on the couch looking out the window at the pretty colors. That was as far as he would get to the action.

I was able to see the neighbor girl throw a sparkler at Candice not once but twice, burning her back, her blanket and Erik's hand when he tried to get it away from everyone.

We had two families that weren't ours come out to watch. We found out just last night that the people across the street sat and watched from their windows. HELLO!!! they should have come outside.

After spending $50 on fireworks, Bryon was ready to forget the whole thing and go somewhere and watch other people waste their money. After the kids had a blast and we entertained most of the street, I think he changed his mind.

Grandma wanted to sleep on the tramp, so everyone piled out there. Rebekah and Ethen showed their skills before they all went to sleep.

Ok Janet....I will give you the lecture on sparklers......DON'T DO THEM EVER AGAIN!!! For 16 years we have said that at the Rindlisbacher household....because of Braden's trip as a 5 year old to the burn center. We have been big advicates against the "fire sticks" since then....I have enjoyed the blogs......your days are numbered...till Aug. 2. I am sure you are getting excited!
