Christmas 2009

Classic New Pajama's on Christmas Eve.

Another Classic. Top of the stairs in order of age. The kids are always so anxious that they have a hard time holding still for this one.

Young Women in Excellence

We did adventures in excellecnce for our theme.
6 1/2 hours total for set up the event and take down. That was a bit long, but everything turned out great.

Halloween 2009

We went cheapo this year and it was funny that the kids were so exicted. Apparently a hobo has to be angry at something.Pardon the diaper. It was early in the morning before school, but Sam was a fireman.

Student of the Month

From Mr. Runolfson this time.

Poop and chalk art

Okay this one is just because he is cute. Mom and Dad filled up the truck with compost when they went to the dump and brought it out. I was super sick this day so I didn't get to help. They unloaded it all.
We finally had to close the garage because the Eagle Mountain wind was bringing too much of it inside.

While I was watching I discovered some chalk art that Ethen and Sam had done earlier in the day. It was cute to see all their drawings

Until I saw this one. What the HECK!!!

Apparently Sam ate a dinosaur and had to get rid of it.
Why would I be worried????

PEACHES

The last day of Summer type weather. The kids hung out in the semi-heat while Mom and I worked like crazy doing peaches.

This was my last chance to have her help me before she left and there was no way I was going without for 18 months. Sam was an awesome help. He had to pour the peaches in the jars and got mad if you didn't let him.

Rebekah helped a bit when she got home then went to the out doors to play.

Count Down Begins

I went to the OB today and had my parents watch Sam. As I was driving away, I realized this is the last time they will babysit for me until they get home. I had a hard time with the tears. Bryon was no help. Luckily I texted a few of my peeps and they made me feel better.
With only 6 days left, I am trying hard not to think much about more than the logistics of getting them on the plane. Everything else is a bit too hard.
Check out their blog.

Arghhhhhhh (not the pirate type)

I have contracted Rebekah's cold. Boo Hoo you say and rightly you should.

However, even though I don't have asthma, I have had colds turn into pneumonia three times in 2 calendar years. The worst lasted for 6 WEEKS!

Needless to say I am being a bit cautious because I have WAY to many things going on right now that would suffer from my illness.
So if you notice me being a wimp and spending a great deal of time in bed, it is only partly lazniness. The other part in premptive.
At least Bryon can't say Team Alice caused this bout.

Melt my heart

I was telling my friend Laurie an update about one of the other night managers at the LC. Her husband is in ICU with pneumonia and Swine flu and in a coma. We have put together a fund to get her a Wal-mart gift card for groceries because neither one of them are working obviously. I told Laurie how it didn't look to good for him and how worried I was.
I didn't know Rebekah was listening.
After I was off the phone, she came and gave me a handful of change.
"Will you put this in the envelope for Leslee? This is all I have."
It was 20 cents.
It was hard to look at her with the tears in my eyes and tell her I would.
What a kind heart.

One for the record books

Once upon a time there was a man who spent entirely too much time in the mountains west of Cedar Fort looking for Elk Antlers.
One day, after a particularly successful hike he realized that he had a hole in his pants pocket.
Of course he kept his cell phone in that pocket and noticed that is was missing. Where among the expanse of the 10 mile hike did he loose the device? After looking harder than he did for antlers, he gave up and went home. After acquiring a new phone, it seemed like the one was not only lost but forgotten.
Every time he went back on the mountain after that, the cell phone came to mind. Feelings of regret for the lost monetary value plagued his mind.
Fast Foward TWO YEARS LATER!!
Yep two whole years and what does he find?...
Unbelievable.
That is all I have to say.

My Love-Hate Relationship

I love that there is a Walmart so close to us now.
I hate that it only takes me one trip to BLOW my paycheck there.
Seriously, How much food does it take to feed a family of 5?.....

Conumdrum

Ethen fell off the tramp on Monday. I took him to the Urgent Care Tuesday, just to be safe. They told me that it wasn't broken, but here we are Thursday and he is still complaining.
They didn't even mention anything about it being sprained, she just put and ace bandage on it to appease him. So do I take him to the pediatrician who will send me all the way to Orem to get an x-ray or do I wait it out for the weekend. Perhaps he is just being a sissy. It has been known to happen.

My Girl

We got to practice a bit early on Tuesday so I went into the gym to warm up with Rebekah while she waited for her coach.
She needs to work on her serve, so I went to the other side of the net and told her if she hit it over I would bump it back to her. It took a few tries but when she did get it over we ended up in a volley for a few minutes. Just the tow of us on this big 'ol court. I was so proud!
I went to the other side to give her a high five. She hugged me and said "I love you, mom".
Proud moment. That's my girl.

Day of ROFL and LMBO

It must have been a full moon on Thursday. Or something.
Bryon sent me a really funny spoof on Twilight that I will not post because of gore and language. But it was really funny and talks about how We should kill vampires not date them.

That was just the beginning.
With Dane's hilarious Facebook video and Holly's comments about getting a OCD stickers (obsessive Cullen disorder) for the van, I seemed to be the target of many a laugh. Bryon even suggested that we should teach the killing concept in RS or YW. Don't think that will fly.

Much to my surprise when I came home from work, it continued into my new guilty pleasure, The Vampire Diaries. Loosely based on the books, it has good acting and drama. Last night's episode left me rolling when Damon (equal to James) is sitting on a bed with a very familiar black book and starts asking what is wrong with Bella. The next few minutes were spent as one fictional vampire bashes another fictional vampire. I had to pause the show until I could stop laughing.

Now that was some good writing.

Hearts for the Holidays

This year the RS is making these adorable crocheted bags to give for Hearts for the Holidays.
I wasn't going to be at enrichment because I had a Team Alice meeting that night so I got the pattern ahead of time to start working on some.
My first attempt.
Then I got this amazing idea swinging through the empty space in my head.
Guess what all the incoming beehives are getting next year!! I had to modify the pattern a bit to make it bigger, but I think it turned out so dang cute.
The bags only take about 2 1/2 hours to make and I am addicted. I have made three already. Packed with all of the New Beehive Goodies.

Amazing Maddie

I have been meaning to post this one forever.
A couple of Sundays ago, we got a knock on the door. It was one of the beehives to deliver this fabulous cake that she made for me. She told me that she was impressed by my lesson on Service the week before that and decided to do some for me.
She did it all on her own and the kids couldn't stop eating it. They even asked for it for breakfast.
Love you Maddie. Thanks for thinking of me.

Catch up 1

Rebekah begged to be in Volleyball this year, so we caved. This is the first time she has played so she is still working on her skills. She hasn't been this dedicated to something in a while. She always wants to go out and practice her serve, and likes to come to work now because she can go in the gyms and play while she waits for Dad to come get her.

Surprise

People feed my fetish. Literally.
I found two of these in my box today when I went into work.

Whoever you were, you are my new hero!
