Easter Adventure 2008

After planning doing nothing extreme for Easter this year, we ended up in Price at the last minute.

Dad and the kids got the eggs ready while Grandma, mom and Ni-Ni went to finish getting supplies. CarMarley got a new bike from his mom for Easter and Sam spent a lot of time riding it since CarMarley is still too little. Ethen had a bunch of fun with it too.

Then we spent a bunch of time coloring eggs.

We went to Pinnacle Peak for a picnic and the boys (and Rebekah!!) found some small sheds. That is three weekends in a row for him.

The rest of that Saturday was spent playing Rock Band.

The Easter Bunny got a little carried away and there were a ton of eggs to find.
Can you imagine what they would have done if we WEREN"T there?

Obsessions have merged

Last night I had a great dream that really solidified the extremes of both Bryon's and my obsessions.
I dreamt that we went to Logan looking for Elk sheds. This is a great place to check out because of the farm they have up there.
Of course we drove around and ended up finding a solitary bull that actually dropped his final side while we watched. Bryon screeched tires as he came to a stop before bounding out of the Jeep to go and get it. Silly, he wouldn't really do that right? ;0)
Then we had to find a place to stay and low and behold we ended up sleeping at the CULLEN"S!! They were all out for a weekend of hunting or something and I only caught a glimpse of Alice (who now looks like Ashley Greene from the movie-Sorry Steph, you have been replaced in my subconscious) walking by the window. Dumb! How can you spend the night in a house of vampires and not see a single one!!!

I think that Bryon and I both need to accept professional help at this point.

JUST WHEN YOU THINK YOU HAVE IT ALL

Just got word that there is now and offical Twilight Movie Website.

Check it out, it will develop more as time goes on.

CUTENESS

So.... Sam wanted to watch "Cars" this morning so I put it on for him. Then the phone rang and I went upstairs to get it. Then I updated the blog. When I went back down to check on him, this is what I found.

The secret

Okay, so obviously I am the offical "Twilight" Movie Updater. I figured I would simplify things for everyone who wants to know and list my favorite sights here.
That way you can all check them yourselves.

Not in any particular order.

Rebekah's accomplishment

She woke up this morning and came in to show me what she did last night. I was checking my email over breakfast as usual, and she had something behind her back.

She flipped it out with pride and said, "I finished!"

She had The Book of Mormon Stories that we bought a while ago to make scripture reading more fun for the kids.

I knew that she had been reading it, but I had no idea that she was so far along.
She did this all on her own. We encouraged her to read it, but haven't pushed to hard. In fact I pushed her more to read a book for her volunteer book report that her teacher suggested she do so that she didn't' get bored in class.

At least she had her priorities straight.

What an example to all of us.

She even prayed last night after she had finished it. She said she felt really good inside. We had a nice talk about interpreting the promptings of the Holy Ghost.

Did anyone else have a REAL testimony of the Book of Mormon at 8??!! Add ten years to that and you have mine.

How lucky are we to be parents of such an awesome spirit.

The second shed hunt

Of course with Dane not being able to go the first time, Bryon went down to the bookcliffs again.
The trip wasn't as successful as the first. Bryon only came home with 8 instead of the 11 from the first. Clayton found his first ever and Dane walked right by one. Bryon of course picked that one up and razzed him about it the rest of the time.
Poor Erik had to go to Morp so he was constantly receiving text pics of all the stuff his brothers found. I am sure he was about to pull his hair out by the end of the date.
Bryon and Dane wanted to make the torture complete, so they laid out all of their finds in the entry way. He couldn't miss them all.

Bryon got some great pictures of the scenery along with a large mountain lion track in the place where they had camped the week before. Scary!!

The FIRST shed hunt

The Buchmiller boys club (minus Dane) went down to the bookcliffs to check out the amount of shed. They went earlier this year than normal and it paid off. Total they found about 30 antlers. Rebekah found this lovely specimen. It was her first ever and ended up being the biggest of the bunch at 6 points!!
Of course you have to lay them all out to see the spoils for the full effect of the three days.
My favorite groover.
Bryon found the first side of this impressive set. Erik found the other side and by shed hunting rules you have to give it up to the finder of the first side. Erik did distinguish that he got visiting rights before he relinquished his prize.

While you were out

Bryon and Rebekah went down to the book cliffs this weekend for the first annual shed hunting trip. The boys and I invited grandma and grandpa over and inthe course of 2 days completely transformed the basement. Bryon had no idea. We spent about 15 hours painting (holy crow-sponging on 4 different colors takes forever!) and only 2 or three rearranging furniture and decorating.
They were surprised. Bryon had to add his addition to the top of the book shelf before he considered it truly done.
The inspiration for it all. I took the frame to match all the paint colors to.

Mom's Silver Beaver Award

On March 4, my mom FINALLY received her Silver Beaver for scouting. It had been a long time coming (ever since Dad got his!).

We made the trek to Bountiful to see the ceremony. It was held at the same place as the kids play in September. Needless to say, they were not shy about running up and down "the cave" and walking all the way around the auditorium to go to the bathroom in the green room. It was funny that they were still so comfortable there. I guess with weeks of rehearsals you should know your way around.

The ceremony was a lot like church. We kept having to give out treats and shhh's to keep them all quiet. It was nice to have people around us that had kids as well.

Sam kept wanting to look at the program. He flipped through the pages of pictures and blurbs about each recipient. When he would reach the last page, he would get excited and point to mom saying "gamma, gamma". Then he would pick some random guy with graying hair and say "pappa, pappa". Funny. I guess he didn't wan to leave grandpa out.

After the clapping and yelling was over, we made our way to the sign in the hallway with her name on it for pictures. I ran into my bishop and young women's leader from my home ward that were there to support my mom. Somehow in the excitement of seeing them and catching up, I lost Sam.

Of course I freaked out and frantically started searching for him. Bryon and my aunts and uncles helped in the fiasco.

Bryon was the lucky one to spot him, next to a kind older man. He was excited to see daddy. The good Samaritan told Bryon that Sam wouldn't let him pick him up, but that he stayed right by the mans side until dad came.

I ranted for a while about my stupidity and the fact that it could have been so much worse.

Bryon of course made a profound statement about the entire thing. I was chattering about what could have happened. He said "Sure-in a room packed full of Eagle Scouts!"

Good point hunny. I guess the only better place to get lost would be in the temple.
