Eternally Bonded...Again

I wish that I would have taken pictures yesterday, but I totally slacked off. Between lessons, and meetings and choir and both sets of parents a few things slipped.
Since I basically consider this my journal (bet you didn't know you were getting the secret insides of my life huh?) I needed to make sure and record what a fabulous day we had yesterday.
Since he has been called, sustained and set apart now it is okay to post this right?
Bryon had about 10 days off after he was released from his calling in the Young Men's before the High Councilmen hit us up and church and said he needed to talk to us both in the bishops office after sacrament meeting. Ummm, which degree of freakin out can you imagine?!?
He was called to be in the High Priest Group Leadership in our ward. His response was "But I am not a High Priest" Brother Thompson laughed a little bit then.
It took a while to get used to the idea. We went home and sluffed Sunday school and had some quiet moments. Of course in the humility of my husband he really felt unworthy. We were talking just a couple of days before about how cool high priests were and how they were supposed to be able to expound more on the scriptures etc. He didn't feel like he could do that. DUH of course he can.
The ordination and setting apart didn't happen as we had thought. We were expecting 2:00 and had to move it to 1:00. Bryon was able to pick anyone he wanted to ordain him. I didn't know what to say when he told the high councilmen that he wanted my dad to be the one. Can't even express how I felt. The two most important men in my life.
I had to call dad and tell him to speed down because we moved the time up. They made it a bit late but not too bad.
The reason we had to move it to 1:00 was because the stake president had said that he wanted to do the setting apart. Ummmm-what do you say to that? Thanks but no thanks? If he does the setting apart that means he knows Bryon's name and though we adore President Draper, big things always come around when the Stake President knows who you are.
Couple of things that were funny about the entire process. Multiple people commented that this type of calling is usually peremptory to things like the bishopric and high council. One person okay, but two or three? Come on, are you trying to give me an aneurysm? Then multiple people also commented that things need to be good between us as a couple. It was almost like they thought there was something wrong. Bryon asked me late last night if I thought that he treated me okay.
I told him. "let's see, you give me everything I want (cricut is coming baby!) and still open the door for me" He fills my car with balloons the day before Valentines day, and builds ramps and MFT with the kids. We talk multiple times during the day and the nights when we aren't together. Yeah I think it is safe to say that we are doing better than the average couple.
Of course I knew this kind of thing would happen when I married the guy. I mean seriously, how choosey can you get with high expectations and then not see them expanding later on down the road.
It was awesome to print off his Priesthood Line of Authority again and be able to see my dads name accompanied with all the other names from his side of the family and know that not only are him and I connected forever, but now that same bond exists between him and my dad.

New Moon Monday

Promotional Poster! Not the final thing.
Not confirmed yet, but this is slated to be the face of Caius! Jamie Campbell-Bower from the UK. I do have to say that him and Dakota should get along famously. OH OH OH I have been wanting to post this for a while but what. Here is an interview that Rob did for Moviefine. Clearling up a ton of rumors.

Q. Is it true that, I don’t know if you saw this, but a source on the set of ‘New Moon’ said that you don’t smell good, that you don’t shower?
A. I haven’t even been on the set yet!
Q. You know the same thing went around about Zac Efron a while ago; that he doesn’t shower.
A. Really? He looks like he smells really good [laughs]. I also do shower.

M-F-T

Bryon stayed home because of the weather.
I woke from nap time to the sound of a strange rustling at the end of my bed. I peeked (cuz I wasn't ready to wake up yet) and saw sleeping bags inching toward me. I didn't worry too much because they all went away. A few minutes later they returned and were getting closer. I decided that I would start throwing things at them since no one was looking.
I heard Bryon yell "we are under attack! Retreat! Retreat!" and they all ran downstairs.
This was my first introduction to the
Mobile Fort Team.
Complete with captains and second captains. They have a very strict rule book that involves missions and objectives like "distract and evade" and "supply gathering" (food). Of course they can't be photographed because their identities are secret.
But using my own set of highly developed skills, I was able to capture a few pieces of evidence. Glad for the high speed of the camera.

A distraction mission gone bad.

A surprise attack in the heart of headquarters.

And finally out feeble attempts to uncover the Captain. We failed.
And the Dad of the Year Award goes too.....
The duct-tape ramp making, undercover mission creating Bryon.

Not Only in Cartoons

Ethen was playing behind the sectional. A no no of course. He didn't realize that Bryon had fixed the lamp that we have back there. He reattached the base so that it would stand up straight again.
Ethen decided to step on the base because it was sticking up. And WHOP! The lamp came flying. It took him about 15 minutes to stop crying but only about 1 minute for the goose egg to form.
Three days later it is still just as big, but has turned a lovely brown color.

Surprise Party

My Primary class was a bit reluctant to let me go. Two weeks after getting released, they threw me a surprise party to say goodbye.
I came to Cami's and found a house full of girls and chocolate.

Doesn't look like they had any fun. Sorry Cami, I bet you had a mess to clean up.

When I first walked in, they were all assembled and sang me my favorite primary song. Definitely not expecting that. I cried again. You would have thought Lyndee was in the room or something.

I love you all!! Thanks for the send off. I can't wait to see you all in Young Women's.

Weekend #1

Bryon went shed hunting this last weekend so the kids and I came up with some fun stuff to do. Every weekend they want to sleep downstairs while watching a movie. Friday we decided to up the entertainment a bit by building a monster fort.
Seven blankets, one card table and one ironing board later...

Are you ready for a shocker?

So about 2ish today I finally clued into the fact that Twilight Moms was preparing for something big tonight. I had not planned on attending a midnight release party because I planned my own for Saturday night. Then I find out that a star or two is going to be showing up at the location where all the TM's were assembling. Of course they have the inside scoop, so I quickly went into crisis mode and called/texted everyone, called and got a babysitter, found out more details and got all geared up to go. And then I stayed home. That is right. TM's are converging, along with the rest of the Salt Lake valley in about 30 minutes for a surprise (HAA) visit from at least one of the stars of the movie. And here I sit in my own kitchen, on the laptop, secretly praying that I am only missing Victoria. If I find out that Kellan showed up...

Weekend #2

Oh 74 degrees!!!
After cleaning up the yard all morning, the kids wanted to jump on the tramp with the sprinkler. Considering the beauty of the day I obliged.
They invited some friends over and realized that it was just a bit too cold.

Weekend #3

After being such a fabulous mother all weekend, I took off Saturday night to have a party celebrating the release of Twilight on DVD.
We rented a room at the Legacy Center, had everyone bring something to sit on and set up a projector. The quality was amazing and the huge speakers made it seem just like a private viewing of the movie, but with more comfortable seating and treats. Nice Cake. It was soooo yummy too.

More Eagle Mountain Posse came that Legacy Center Posse. I gave all the no-shows a bunch of crap though.
Laurie and Leslie brought luv sacs and sat right in front. Jamie's fabulous husband hauled over some couches. Unfortunately my blow up couch has seen better days and died.

Thanks DJ for the games. It was awesome.Hopefully everyone had as much of a good time as I did. Hopefully Jill and Jen got to see enough of the movie for the first time that they were intrigued. Of course that is if they could hear anything over all the comments (and not all of them were from me thank you very much).

Yes I know it isn't Monday

My email isn't working this morning, so I decided to post this here since it is pretty cool.

We have (thanks to The Lex) been able to identify the Wolf Pack. Twidork created the fabulous poster.

Clockwise from bottom left:
Alex Meraz as Paul

Tinsel Korey as Emily Young

Chaske Spencer as Sam Uley

Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black

Tyson Houseman as Quil Ateara

Bronson Pelletier as Jared

Kiowa Gordon as Embry Call
Bella's house is being built this time around instead of using the same one from Twilight.

And Twilight Moms just registered its 25000th member! Holy Crap. A year ago, when I registered there was only 4000 world wide. How the word gets out.

Funny Kids

Yesterday, I think they all tried to impress me with their whittyness.

Sam called me downstairs when I was up in my room folding the laundry.
"Mom, you not 'possed to play on your 'puter"
I guess he think I spend to much time on the laptop.

Rebekah while speaking of St. Patty's Day. I told her I didn't have to wear green because I have green eyes (okay they are hazel, but it is easier to say green). After telling me that eyes don't count.
"and they aren't green. They are more of a puke color."
Nice.

Ethen in FHE talking about honesty and how Satan is the father of all lies. I asked if we wanted to be like Satan.
"No, because Satan is like-BAM!" he hits his fist on his other hand.
No idea what that was about. Bryon and I were confunded.

My Sasquatch Man

This needs to be recorded for posterity.
After being released from YM's president, Bryon decided to try his hand at facial hair again. The men in our stake that hold Priesthood authority positions are asked to uphold a dress code that mirrors the First Presidency. White shirts, suits, and no facial hair.
This is after a week of growth. He started determining the progress by how far away you had to be in order to tell it was there. We were up to a dozen feet or so, but Drew Schmidt said he could see it from the stand today in church as we were 5 rows back!! That was a boost for sure.
I do have to note that I encouraged the growth because I thought it was funny that he was doing it just because he could. I have a strong dislike for facial hair, so I am very fortunate that I got Bry.
No worries though. He is sick of it and will be shaving soon.

Knowledge Bowl 2009

I can't believe that we finally made it to competition!!! After months of extra homework and practices, the kids headed off to compete against other schools in the district.
This was just the third and fourth grade teams. I guess last year they had a hard time with getting enough people for just one team, we had four!
The competition is set up kind of like Jeopardy, where each player has a buzzer and rings in for the answers. It is amazing how much stuff these kids have to know. My grandma came and she commented on how "not smart" she felt afterwards. Amen to that.

The kids moved from classroom to classroom four times and competed against other teams. We got CREAMED, but the kids had a great time. Rebekah was shy at first, but once she got the hang of it all, she was buzzing in and answering questions. I was so proud of her.
Without a doubt, the best and the worst moment of the day was in the fourth round. Bryon noticed her doing a potty dance almost as soon as the game started. By the end she couldn't even sit down. I felt so bad for her, she was trying so hard. She could have answered so many questions in that round, but she was focusing so hard on keeping it all in.

Paige Goodrich, Rebekah, Miss Marchant (coach and favorite teacher of all time) and Makenna Goodrich.
The Goodrich twins weren't part of the district competition, but wanted to come and support Rebekah. It was awesome to have such good friends to cheer her on as well as the family that attended as well.
After the games were over, we headed to Brick Oven (Rebekah's choice) for lunch.

The kids had just a bit of fun I think.

Thanks to everyone who came.
Grandma Colleen and Grandpa Jim
Grandma Patsy
Great Grandma Dot and Aunt Katie
Paige and Makenna
We had the largest cheering section around (even though we had to be quiet)
And thanks to Kelsey for watching Sam for so long!
We love you all!!

Duct Tape Creations

Bryon promised Sam that they could build a ramp after nap time. I was sure that this would involve boxes and stiff books or something. Oh no! Bryon is way too cool for that.
I think we are officially out of duct tape now.

From the counter to the floor wasn't big enough, so they expanded.

I could only sit and laugh. They played for a good hour and it was nothing but "do it again Dad!", and "that was awesome!"
One of the those memories to file away in the precious moments section of my life.
